We’ve all heard the therapeutic parlance of our day: self-love, acceptance, mindfulness, etc. You don’t hear many therapists talking about precision, self confrontation, and clarity. Any therapeutic buzz words are going to be ineffective if you don’t have an accurate picture of how your mind works in real time. The Mindful Map therapy aims to provide you with a precise and accurate re-description of your life experiences so that your brain can be more cognitively and emotionally aligned. I firmly believe that this is the main ingredient in how we develop a calm inner world and stay grounded to our values and goals. I’m the type of therapist who is direct, collaborative, and who tells you exactly what I see. I don’t hide behind empathy or textbook formulas, but channel my experience in CBT, marriage and family therapy, and Psychodynamic technique into a neurologically informed approach.
Direct, collaborative, and rooted in neurologically informed approaches.
Delving into past experiences to identify blind spots and foster transformative change.
Drawing upon CBT, marriage and family therapy, and psychodynamic techniques for a customized approach.
Hi there, my name is Dave, and I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with a profound commitment to exploring the intricacies of your past experiences and the inner workings of your mind. By delving into these aspects, we can identify blind spots in your life, which often arise when our minds misinterpret reality, especially during times of significant stress, or when influential individuals in our lives inadvertently contribute to this misperception.

Everyone goes to therapy with a catalyst. Something isn't working like it used to, a new type of pain or suffering has emerged, trouble at work or in your relationships.
I need you to bring your stories/examples of what happened and what went wrong. The more specific and more detailed narrative the better. I don't need you to explain anything - just describe what happened.
I'll listen and share my thoughts and observations. I'll challenge you if it's necessary - always with the goal of furthering clarity and alignment in your brain.
As patterns emerge in how you interact with your surroundings I will type out a map in the form of a flow chart showing how your mind is working and how the minds of others are working (for or against you).
Looking at your life from a new lens is hard - and it takes effort and repetition to be integrated into a new perspective you hold. Many clients often have an epiphany in therapy to then go back into their daily life and fall back into the usual patterns. This is normal, but having a visual map of our work allows you to bring your understanding with you in a more repetitive and concrete way.
